Once upon a time there were three bears: A father bear, a mother bear and a little bear. They lived together in a yellow house with a red roof in the middle of a big forest.

One day, Mother Bear prepared a big pot of hot milk for breakfast. It was too hot to drink, so the bears decided to go for a walk while the milk cooled.

Near the forest lived a little girl named Goldilocks. Goldilocks was a naughty little girl. On that morning she was playing in the forest, throwing stones at squirrels, when she smelled the delicious smell of the milk that Mother Bear had made.

“Oh, I’m so hungry!” thought Goldilocks. “I wonder if they will share their milk with me?”

She knocked on the door of the house. She peeked in the window. She saw three bowls of porridge on the kitchen table — but it seemed that there was nobody home. So Goldilocks went in. (Oh, she was a naughty little girl!)

“Ahi! Questo latte è troppo caldo!” disse.

First, Goldilocks tasted the milk in Father Bear’s bowl. “Ow! This milk is too hot!” she said.

“Puah! Questo latte è troppo freddo!” disse.

Then Goldilocks tasted the milk in the bowl of Mother Bear. “Yuck! This milk is too cold!” she said.

Finally Goldilocks tasted the milk in Little Bear’s bowl. “Mmmmm, this milk is just perfect!” she said, and she drank the whole bowl of milk!

With a full and satisfied stomach, Goldilocks looked for a place to sit. She saw three chairs beside the fireplace. First, she sat on Father Bear’s chair. “This chair is too hard!” she complained.

Then she sat on Mother Bear’s chair. “This chair is too soft!” she complained.

Finally, she sat on Little Bear’s chair. “Ahh, this chair is just perfect”, she sighed. But just then the chair broke! “I must have drunk too much milk”, Goldilocks thought to herself.

She was still tired, so she climbed the stairs and found the bedroom, where there were three beds. First, Goldilocks tried Father Bear’s bed, but she did not like it. “This bed is too hard!” she said.

Then she tried Mother Bear’s bed, but she did not like it either. “This bed is too soft!” she said.

Finally, she tried Baby Bear’s bed. “This bed is just perfect!” she said happy, and fell into a deep sleep full of dreams of cookies and kittens.

Shortly after, the bears returned from walk, ready to have breakfast. But they were surprised to see that the spoons were already in their bowls of milk. “Someone has drunk my milk!” exclaimed Father Bear.

“Someone has drunk my milk also!” exclaimed Mother Bear.

“Someone has drunk my milk... and it’s all gone!” sobbed Baby Bear, who loved milk.

Then, the three bears saw that their chairs had been used. “Who has sat on my chair?” asked Father Bear.

“Who has sat on my chair?” asked Mother Bear.

“Who has sat on my chair... and broken it?!” asked Baby Bear, and he began to cry.

The three bears ran up the stairs to check the bedroom. “Someone has slept in my bed!” growled Father Bear.

“And someone has slept in my bed”, growled Mother Bear.

“Someone has slept in my bed... and she’s still there!” shouted Baby Bear so loudly that Goldilocks woke up.

When she saw the three angry bears she was very frightened. She jumped out of bed, rushed down the stairs, ran out the door and didn’t stop running until she reached her house.

Inside she found her own bowl and her own chair. And that night, just before she went to sleep in her own bed, she promised to herself ...

... “Non berrò mai più latte.”

... “I will never drink milk again.”
